Department Description

The Construction Management Department is tasked with managing SPLOST and General Obligation Bonded vertical construction projects and parks, along with other special projects funded through alternative sources such as donations, enterprise funds and grants. All aspects of the construction process are managed from putting together the design team through seeing each project through the warranty period. Some of the management duties include:  design input, contract document review, contracting, subcontracting, procurement of materials and labor, coordination with other County Departments, project oversite including site inspections, record keeping, periodic reviews of the progress schedule, review and processing of changes, approval of payments, and project close-out. Managing the construction process from start to finish with a team of professional, experienced and dedicated individuals assures the citizens of Columbia County and the end user that these projects are designed and built on budget and to the design and construction standards expected.
