Columbia County Fire Rescue provides fire protection and education, vehicle extrication and rescue, medical first response, and other services to the citizens of Columbia County.  Click here to view the map of the Columbia County Fire Response Areas and Station Locations.

Columbia County Fire Rescue has fifteen stations which are fully staffed twenty-four hours a day. The department is a combination career paid and volunteer organization with one hundred and seventy (170) members, along with a business office staff and a 24/7 fire dispatch.  Training of these personnel far exceeds the state mandated training requirements and all are certified firefighters or in training to achieve this goal. Most are medical first responder, EMT, or paramedic qualified also.

Columbia County Fire Rescue fire safety education program has been recognized for years as one of the premier programs in the state of Georgia. The Department has always held the philosophy that it is easier to prevent fires than to put them out. Our personnel feel that this is their most important job and take fire prevention seriously. Fire safety houses are very effective teaching aids that teach children what to do in case of fire.

Columbia County was re-evaluated by ISO in 2016, and has improved their rating. Effective February 1, 2017, Columbia County will become an ISO Class 1/1X community. Columbia County is one of two hundred and four communities nationwide to achieve this  classification. Any home located within 5 miles of a fire station and 1000 ft. of a fire hydrant will receive this designation.

Columbia County Fire Rescue is a division that the citizens of Columbia County can take pride in! Their concern for the community and their support has created one of the top public service agencies in the state of Georgia.
