A message from Scott Johnson, County Administrator:

In the fall of 2002, former County Administrator, Steve Szablewiski, wrote a vision and developed a branding statement that was intended to emphasize who and what we are as a County and “that which we would hope to become in the future”.   This, among other factors, has contributed to the success of this organization.

As a result of this, coupled with the tremendous amount of growth we’ve experienced as a County, we have developed this vision over time and now, we are taking it to the next level.

One thing I take pride in is the fact that Columbia County encompasses a diverse group of talented individuals, who come from all walks of life and work together to make our county great.

Building on these strengths, we have created a concept that will further promote teamwork, eliminate bureaucracy, and encourage working together within the County--no matter what your job title or position.

We have conceptualized the classic form of local government; we will strengthen the current values in place and focus on CORE value, which I believe is PRIDE.

In addition to a revamp of our current operations, we have created an acronym for PRIDE that we believe is the essence of what makes a great employee. --Professionalism, Respect, Integrity. Dedication, Excellence.

This will replace our current mission statement and will highlight who we are as an entity.  We are going to encourage teamwork and begin to streamline this concept and pave the way for the future.

Thank you for visiting our website.  Whether you are a visitor or a resident, we hope that you see the PRIDE in all that Columbia County has to offer!
