The Stormwater Management Plan

The Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) has been developed as a requirement of Article III, Chapter 2-6.1 of the Code of Ordinances of Columbia County, Georgia. The ordinance was adopted as a required segment of the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit Application to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD). The purpose of the document is to clarify the goals and objectives of the overall program and to unify the various existing components regarding the management of stormwater within Columbia County such as sediment and erosion control, infrastructure maintenance, and floodplain management.
