Application Instructions
Welcome to the Application Instructions page! Please review the required steps below to ensure proper completion of our employment application.
If this is your first time applying online, you will be prompted to create an account and select a username and password. You cannot complete an application until your account has been set up. The information in your account will be saved, and you can use that account to apply for additional open positions in the future. We only accept applications for positions that are currently open and advertised.
You will have the opportunity to upload a resume and cover letter. Read the job posting carefully; it contains information about the position for which you are applying. Answer all questions completely and accurately. Your opportunity for employment begins with the accuracy and completeness of your application. The information you provide in the application and assessment (if applicable) will be the primary basis for evaluating your qualifications.
Online Applications for posted positions are accepted at Columbia County, Georgia website until the position is filled. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of a completed online application. Applications will remain active for two years from date of application.
Follow the instructions below to fill out your job application online:
Application Instructions (for Positions that are not affiliated with the Sheriff's Department):
- Click this link: Jobs
- Select position of choice.
- Review position description summary.
- Select "Click Here to Apply Online".
- On the next screen, hit the blue "Apply" link.
- Log in if a returning user or if a new user, click "Create a New Account". Do not use the PIN migration option.
- Complete each section of the application.
- All red asterisk (*) fields must be completed.
- Click the "Review Application" to review before submission.
- Click "Submit Application".
