Probate Court

General Information

The Probate Court of Columbia County exercises jurisdiction over a variety of matters including the probate of wills, the appointment/removal of administrators and executors of decedents’ estates, appointment/removal of guardians and/or conservators for adults and minors and vital records (Appling location only). Probate Court also issues marriage licenses, weapons carry licenses and handles traffic citations along with numerous miscellaneous duties.

The Probate Court is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (excluding recognized holidays)

• Marriage and Weapons Carry Licensing are done between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
